Beta Tester Agreement

LAWDE Shield — Beta Tester Agreement
Between: LAWDE ("we", "us") and the person whose name appears at the bottom of this page ("you", "the tester").
Effective: the moment you check the consent box and type your name.
1. What this is
You are getting early, unreleased access to LAWDE Shield — features, pricing, and interfaces that are not yet available to the public — so you can test the product and share your honest feedback with us. In exchange, you agree to keep what you see confidential.
2. What's confidential
Anything you see inside the beta that the public cannot yet see, including:
- Pre-launch features, UI, pricing, and product roadmap discussions
- Screenshots, screen recordings, or transcripts of unreleased screens
- The fact that you are in the beta, the identity of other testers,
and the contents of private beta channels (if any)
- Any internal documentation we share with you during the program
3. What's NOT confidential (safe harbor)
- Information that is or becomes publicly available through no fault of
yours (e.g. features we launch publicly, published pricing, blog posts)
- General industry knowledge you already had before joining
- Your own source code, error data, and diagnostics — those are yours,
full stop
- Independent discoveries you make without using our confidential
information
- Information we give you written permission to share
4. What we're asking of you
- Don't share confidential materials with anyone outside LAWDE —
no screenshots in tweets, blog posts, Discord, or DMs.
- Don't publish reviews, comparisons, or commentary on unreleased
features until we launch them publicly.
- Do tell us if something breaks or looks wrong — that's the point.
- Do ask before sharing anything you're unsure about. We'll answer
in a day.
5. What you keep
- All rights to your own code, data, and diagnostics. We process
them only to run your service, never for model training, never for any other purpose. You can delete everything any time from your workspace settings.
- Freedom to use competing tools — you're testing us, not
exclusivity-bound to us.
6. What we keep
- Ownership of LAWDE Shield, its code, designs, and roadmap.
- The right to use your feedback to improve the product (including
your direct quotes in marketing), with attribution to your name or handle unless you ask us not to.
7. Beta reality check
This is pre-release software. It will sometimes be slow, occasionally wrong, and rarely broken. We don't warrant that it works perfectly, and we don't promise it will stay free forever. We do promise to treat your data with the same zero-liability standards as paying customers.
8. How this ends
This agreement ends when any of the following happens, whichever is earliest:
- You leave the beta
- You convert to a paid LAWDE Shield plan (the standard ToS then
applies)
- We launch the feature in question publicly (that feature is then
public for everyone, not just you)
- 12 months after your last beta login, automatically
After it ends, you still can't share anything you saw *while* it was confidential — even if it's public later, your duty of confidentiality during the program stands.
9. Plain-English promise
We won't play legal gotcha with you. If you slip and share something by accident, tell us immediately and we'll work together to contain it. Reckless or deliberate leaks are different, and those we will enforce.
