Question 1

What is LAWDE Shield?

Accepted Answer

LAWDE Shield diagnoses production crashes for indie and full-stack Node and Next.js developers. When your app breaks, it tells you what broke, why it broke, and where to fix it — and refuses to guess when the evidence is not there.

Question 2

What happens when the evidence is weak?

Accepted Answer

Aegis scores each diagnosis on evidence it checks itself — your code in the crash frame, source read at the crashing release, the error on the crash line, real files and identifiers — and caps it at Athena’s own confidence. Weak grounding is shown, not hidden: you still see the stack, impact, and the score. A patch is shown only if it applies to your source and changes the crash line, at a diagnosis score of 0.70 or more. A guess is never dressed up as a fix.

Question 3

Who is LAWDE Shield for?

Accepted Answer

Indie and full-stack developers shipping Node.js and Next.js without a DevOps team. You get crash root cause and an IDE-ready prompt instead of a log wall you have to triage yourself.

Question 4

Does LAWDE Shield store my source code?

Accepted Answer

No. Secrets are scrubbed before we keep the event. Beacon may fetch a short-lived, read-only GitHub window for one diagnosis, then discard it. There is no durable source-code copy in the product.

Question 5

Will sending logs to your API slow down my live application?

Accepted Answer

No. Secrets are scrubbed in under 50ms — that is our design target for the built-in privacy scrub on the hot path. Full persistence and AI clustering happen asynchronously. Your application thread never waits on our AI.

Question 6

Can you auto-fix the code in my IDE like Cursor or Claude?

Accepted Answer

Not yet directly. Today LAWDE Shield gives you a 1-click agentic JSON copy payload you paste into your IDE or agent.

Question 7

What if my logs contain custom internal PII, like patient IDs or SSNs?

Accepted Answer

Built-in masking strips common secrets and personal data before we keep the event. For domain IDs (patient numbers, staff codes), add custom scrubbers in Settings (Business+) or mask them in your app before you send.

Question 8

What happens if a bug triggers 10,000 errors in one second? Will I get billed for it?

Accepted Answer

No. You are billed per unique issue, not per raw log line. Ten thousand identical crashes stay one incident on your board — one event to diagnose.

Question 9

Can I send webhooks to other tools besides Cursor?

Accepted Answer

Yes! LAWDE Shield broadcasts structured JSON webhooks to Slack, Discord, Jira, PagerDuty, or any custom internal HTTP endpoint your team relies on for incident triage.

Question 10

What happens if the error occurs in a file listed in .lawdeignore?

Accepted Answer

Diagnosis and source fetch stop immediately. You see “Error caught in Restricted Zone.” We keep only the scrubbed log — nothing from that path is sent to AI.

Question 11

Does it only work for Claude or Cursor?

Accepted Answer

No — it works for all ADEs, agentic CLI tools, and IDEs (including Cursor, Claude, GPT, Windsurf, and more). Just copy and paste the patch prompt payload to your targeted environment.

Question 12

Do I need separate SDKs for Next.js server and client?

Accepted Answer

No. One package: @lawdeshield/agent. NPM conditional exports auto-route Node server crashes (uncaughtException, RSC) and browser client crashes (window.onerror, React boundaries). Non-JS stack uses the Universal HTTP API.

Question 13

What happens if your rate limiter is down?

Accepted Answer

We still accept your crashes. We would rather keep production evidence than drop it. Identical bursts stay one issue on your board.

Question 14

Do you run AI on every crash in a storm?

Accepted Answer

No. Repeats count up on the same issue. Look-alikes join via semantic clustering. You diagnose the root cause once — you are not billed per raw event.

Question 15

What's the difference between Plus, Pro, Business Beta, and Enterprise?

Accepted Answer

Plus ($12) is the indie plan: 50,000 errors/month, 7 Standard Athena fixes/day, 2 apps, 3 seats, and 14-day retention. Pro ($29) unlocks Enhanced Athena, 100,000 errors/day, 5 apps, 5 seats, and 90-day retention. Business ($89) includes Deep-Reasoning diagnostics, 500,000 errors/day, 100 AI fixes, 20 apps, 15 seats, and 180-day retention — with custom scrubbers, audit logs, and SQL explore available now in Beta. Enterprise is Contact Sales for unlimited scale, SSO/SAML, and compliance exports.

Question 16

Who built LAWDE Shield?

Accepted Answer

LAWDE Shield was solo-built by Walid Abdulhameed, popularly known as LawdeWayde, founder of LAWDE.

Question 17

How much does LAWDE Shield cost?

Accepted Answer

Hobby is free (1,000 errors/day, 2 Athena AI fixes/day). Plus is $12/month (50,000 errors/month, 7 AI fixes/day, Standard Athena). Pro is $29/month (100,000 errors/day, 30 AI fixes/day). Business is $89/month (500,000 errors/day, 100 AI fixes/day). Annual billing is 20% off (Plus $115.20/year, Pro $278/year, Business $854/year). Nigerian Naira payments are accepted via Paystack where enabled. Enterprise is Contact Sales.

Question 18

What is LAWDE Shield Plus?

Accepted Answer

Plus is the $12/month indie plan between Hobby and Pro. It includes 50,000 errors per month, 7 Standard Athena AI fixes per day, 3 seats, 2 apps, 3 API keys, and 14-day retention. Custom scrubbers, audit exports, and SQL Explore stay on Business.

Question 19

Is Plus enough for indie developers?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Plus is built for indie developers who outgrow Hobby’s 1,000 errors/day but do not need Pro’s 100,000 errors/day or Enhanced Athena. The 50,000 monthly error cap and 7 Standard AI fixes/day cover typical side-project and early-product traffic at $12/month.
