LAWDE Shield Privacy Policy
Effective Date: July 2026
Welcome to LAWDE Shield ("LAWDE Shield", "LAWDE", "we", "our", or "us").
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use the LAWDE Shield platform.
Our goal is simple:
Help developers debug software while collecting and retaining as little information as reasonably possible.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we may collect:
- Name
- Email address
- Authentication provider (such as GitHub or Google)
- Workspace information
Error and Diagnostic Data
When you send logs to LAWDE Shield, we may receive:
- Error messages
- Stack traces
- Runtime metadata
- Application environment
- Framework information
- Timestamps
Before analysis, LAWDE Shield is designed to scrub common secrets and personally identifiable information (PII) whenever possible.
Repository Information
If you connect GitHub, LAWDE Shield may access repository information using a read-only GitHub App.
Depending on enabled features, this may include:
- Repository metadata
- Commit history
- File paths
- Limited source code context required for analysis
LAWDE Shield is designed to avoid retaining raw source code as part of its normal operation. Source code retrieved for analysis is intended to be processed in volatile memory and not permanently stored.
Usage Information
We may collect operational information including:
- Feature usage
- Error counts
- API usage
- Performance metrics
- Workspace activity
- Diagnostic statistics
This information helps us improve the platform.
Billing Information
If you purchase a paid subscription, payment processing is handled by our payment provider.
LAWDE Shield does not store complete payment card information.

- Detect abuse
- Provide customer support
- Measure platform performance
- Develop new features
3. AI Processing
LAWDE Shield may use third-party AI providers to generate diagnostic summaries.
Only the minimum information reasonably necessary is intended to be transmitted for analysis.
AI-generated responses are intended to assist developers and should be independently reviewed before deployment.
4. Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service.
Our architecture is designed around a Zero Code Retention philosophy.
Repository code retrieved for analysis is intended to exist only during processing and is not intentionally retained after analysis completes.
Retention periods may vary depending on:
- Workspace settings
- Subscription tier
- Legal obligations
- Operational requirements

We do not sell personal information.
We may share limited information with trusted infrastructure providers that help operate the Service.
Depending on enabled features, these providers may include:
